A Heritage in Health to Discover

» Musée des Hospitalières de l’Hôtel-Dieu de Montréal

600 objects from the collection of the Hospitallers of St.Joseph, of Hôtel-Dieu, relate a history forever entwined with that of Montreal.

Guided tours are available for groups and students from grade schools to universities.

The Musée des Hospitalières de l'Hôtel-Dieu de Montréal, inaugurated in 1992, commemorates the 350th anniversary of the foundation of Montreal.

Casting off... to discover the Lachine Canal (Heritage boat tour)

Join us aboard the Navark Dollier-de-Casson for a cruise along the Lachine Canal. Transit the locks, enjoy stunning views of the downtown area, and relive the history of the canal.

Schedule:  June 24 to September 3, 2007 - departures every day at 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. September 8 to October 13, 2007 - Saturday, Sunday and holidays, departures at 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Reservations accepted at 514-283-6054.

Itinerary: From Place d'Armes to Place Jacques-Cartier, including the Royal Bank, Notre-Dame Basilica, Cours Le Royer, Rue Saint-Jacques, Rue Notre-Dame, Rue Saint-Paul, City Hall, the Champ de Mars, and the old Bonsecours Market. Famous Peel Street

In the 19th century, Peel Street was the hub of the Square Mile’s posh clubs. This prestigious artery stretched south to the Lachine Canal, the industrial heart of Montreal.

All tours are two hours long and are conducted - in both French and English – regardless of the weather. Tickets go on sale at the departure point fifteen minutes before the designated time.

Fort Chambly Puts on Its Sunday Best: Chambly in the 18th Century: The Arts of the Table

Two servants attired in period costume will present and describe the typical food and manners encountered at the tables of different groups that once inhabited Chambly in the era of New France.

Fort Chambly Puts on Its Sunday Best every Sunday during July and August! What a great chance to meet craftspeople and characters who will show you what life was like in the New France era. The official bike roundabout

» Guidatour in collaboration with Montréal On Wheels

Bike tour, led by a professional tour guide, starting at the Old Port, La Fontaine Park into the Golden Square Mile's, the downtown, and onto Old Montréal. You may keep your bicycle for the whole day!

Arrival 30 minutes prior to departure. Price : $29 (plus taxes) without the bike rental; $44 (plus taxes) including the bike rental (bicycles are at your disposal until 7:00 pm). Reservations are obligatory as places for bike tour are limited.

Tour of the Exhibit Damoiselle Mance

» Musée des Hospitalières de l’Hôtel-Dieu de Montréal in collaboration with The Univers culturel de Saint-Sulpice

The exhibition unveils the life and work of Jeanne Mance (1606-1673) co-founder of Montréal, founder of the Hôtel-Dieu and Canada's first secular nurse.

The exhibition can be visited individually during the museum's opening hours. A guided tour can also be reserved for groups.
