Casting off... to discover the Lachine Canal (Heritage boat tour)

Join us aboard the Navark Dollier-de-Casson for a cruise along the Lachine Canal. Transit the locks, enjoy stunning views of the downtown area, and relive the history of the canal.

Schedule:  June 24 to September 3, 2007 - departures every day at 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. September 8 to October 13, 2007 - Saturday, Sunday and holidays, departures at 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Reservations accepted at 514-283-6054.

Itinerary: From Place d'Armes to Place Jacques-Cartier, including the Royal Bank, Notre-Dame Basilica, Cours Le Royer, Rue Saint-Jacques, Rue Notre-Dame, Rue Saint-Paul, City Hall, the Champ de Mars, and the old Bonsecours Market.

First Nations, French Royal Collections

» Pointe-à-Callière, musée d’archéologie et d’histoire de Montréal in collaboration with the Musée du quai Branly, Paris

The exhibition presents some of the North American ethnographic artifacts in the French Royal collections, brought back by explorers and others in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Guided tours on Sundays at 1:30 p.m. in French and at 2:30 p.m. in English.

Archaeological excavation workshops. Under expert guidance, participants will use scientific archaeological methods to carefully uncover artifacts, make observations and confirm hypotheses.

Guided tour of the On our Shores exhibition at the Dorval Museum of Local History and Heritage

» Musée d'histoire et du patrimoine de Dorval

This exhibition looks at the events that have taken place on the shores of Lake Saint-Louis, going back to the arrival of Dorval's first European settlers.

The On our Shores exhibition will be presented from June 21 to September 30, 2007. The museum (1850 Chemin Bord-du-Lac - Lakeshore, Dorval) is open Thursday to Sunday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. For information, call 514-633-4314.

Free guided tours on weekends from June till October. The exhibition presents about twenty of the artist's major works, including an outdoor sculpture on the museum's grounds.

You will discover the inspiring stories of the people who form our social landscape. This visit will be followed by a workshop where you will create a postcard in the style of Notman.

All workshops and activities are bilingual and included with Museum admission, unless otherwise indicated. Opening hours Tuesday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Open Mondays on holiday weekends and during the summer months, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free admission on the first Saturday of each month from 10 am to 12 pm.
